Purpose:
Only a single pair of Hangers are to be used per door, regardless of the size of the door. Attaching more than two trucks on a single door can create a fulcrum or "teeter totter" effect causing uneven wear to the hangers and track.

Sometimes called a trolley assembly, a Hanger assembly is made of three components. The first is the wheel assembly called a truck. The second is an adjustable bolt called a pendant bolt. The last component is the apron assembly which comprises of two metal plates that wrap around the top of the door. Bolts are secured perpendicular through the door and into these plates.

For lower weight capacity systems, light duty hangers feature industrial plastic wheels that offer a quieter operation, less wear on the track, and reduce the spreading of the track more than the steel wheels.

Hangers with all metal construction (ball bearing and roller bearing steel wheels) are better suited for heavier applications.

Top plates can be used instead of the apron assembly to provide a cleaner looking door face. Alternatively, the pendant bolt of the truck assembly can be directly attached to the top of a metal door without the use of a top plate, provided sufficient reinforcing has been installed in the top of the metal door to support it's weight.

Function:
Typical used to support wood, fiberglass, or hollow-core doors.
